Abstract
Combinatorics, coding theory and graph theory are central and closely interconnected areas of discrete mathematics. Many fundamental problems in coding theory can be formulated in terms of extremal set systems, graphs, hypergraphs and combinatorial designs, while coding-theoretic questions have in turn motivated the discovery and study of new combinatorial structures. Classical objects such as Latin squares, orthogonal arrays and designs provide particularly important links between these areas, connecting structural combinatorics with error-correcting codes and related problems in information theory.
In recent years, these interactions have become increasingly active, driven by new developments in extremal and probabilistic combinatorics, graph and hypergraph theory, design theory, and coding theory. This workshop aims to bring together leading international researchers and outstanding young mathematicians working across these subjects to present recent advances, discuss major open problems, and explore emerging connections. Particular emphasis will be placed on problems and methods that cross traditional boundaries between combinatorics, coding theory and graph theory, with the goal of stimulating new ideas and long-term international collaborations.
