Abstract

The central theme of this conference revolves around the concept of solvable quantum theory in holography, which stands as one of the most promising approaches to understanding quantum gravity. This subject not only holds great significance in theoretical high energy physics but also serves as a catalyst for extensive research in both pure and applied mathematics.

Deep insights into holography and quantum gravity have been gleaned through a comprehensive exploration of solvable models. A striking example of this is the groundbreaking progress made in resolving the black hole information paradox. This paradox centers around the process of black hole evaporation through Hawking radiation, which exposes the apparent conflict between our present comprehension of the unitarity of time evolution in quantum mechanics and the semi-classical gravitational description of black hole physics. A concise statement of the puzzle could be the reproduction of the elusive "Page curve" depicting the entanglement entropy of Hawking radiation. Over the years, the investigation into the black hole information problem has not only engaged researchers from diverse disciplines but has also spurred significant advancements in quantum field theories, superstring theories, gauge/gravity duality, quantum entanglement, and quantum chaos.

The recent breakthrough in unraveling this complex puzzle can largely be attributed to the discovery of "replica wormholes," which offer a natural explanation for the latter half of the Page curve. With this context in mind, this workshop aims to convene experts from around the world to engage in fruitful discussions and exchange novel ideas within the related fields.

Description of the aim

The workshop's primary objective is to convene distinguished experts from various fields, fostering an ideal platform for in-depth discussions and fruitful collaborations. With a focus on recent developments in solvable models within theoretical high energy physics and mathematical physics, the workshop aims to address longstanding enigmas like the information paradox and the firewall paradox of black holes. These cutting-edge topics lie at the forefront of the field's advancement.

By inviting numerous experts to participate, this workshop is poised to significantly stimulate the development of related research directions within Chinese society. The talks delivered by world-renowned experts during the event will also prove instrumental in nurturing the growth of young researchers, including graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. The collective knowledge and insights exchanged during this gathering promise to invigorate the academic landscape and pave the way for groundbreaking discoveries.
