Known as Hawaii of China, Sanya is a tropical island escape for visitors from within as well as outside of China. Located on the southernmost tip of Hainan Island in the South China Sea, Sanya is a beautiful tourist hub with almost 50km of coastline. Beach

Sanya is one of China’s most famous beach holiday destinations. Its picturesque white sandy beaches, crystal-clear blue waters, and pleasant tropical climate attract hundreds of thousands of visitors every year. Depending on what you’re looking for, there’s a perfect beach for you: for the softest sand and clearest sea, head to Yalong Bay; for peace and quiet, choose Haitong Bay; and for the most in-demand beach experience, Sanya Bay Beach is the place to be. Its stunning 25‑kilometer (15.5‑mile) stretch of coastline is sure to take your breath away.

  • Sanya Bay

    Sanya Bay, one of Sanya's five major bays, boasts a 22-km beach. Bordered by a peninsula to the east, it includes two islands: West Island and East Islandand is home to the Phoenix Island resort complex near the beach's eastern end.

  • Yalong Bay

    Yalong Bay is a 7.5km beach located in southeast Sanya. It is also known as the Yalong Bay National Resort. The eastern part of the bay is occupied by PLA Navy as the East Section of Yulin Naval Base.

  • Haitang Bay

    Haitang Bay is one of the five major bays in Sanya. This 42.8 km beach is located in Haitangwan Town, Sanya, and Yingzhou Town, Lingshui. To its south are Yalong Bay and Wuzhizhou Island.

  • Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park

    Yalong Bay Tropical Paradise Forest Park is the first nationally protected park in Hainan. The park is densely forested with tropical and sub-tropical vegetation. Footpaths and raised walkways wind through the trees, with lookout spots dotted along the way that provide spectacular views of Yalong Bay, Haitang Bay, and the surrounding valleys.

  • Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone

    Nanshan Cultural Tourism Zone is a rare, large-scale eco-cultural tourism zone themed around Buddhist culture, ecological culture, and “longevity culture.” It’s China’s biggest Buddhism-themed tourism zone and it was the country’s first listed 5A attraction.

  • Dongtian Park (Daxiaodongtian)

    Dongtian Park is the southernmost center for Taoist culture in China and was one of China’s first 5A national scenic spots. The Park has a history of 800 years; it was constructed in the Song Dynasty.

    Tianya Haijiao (meaning “the edge of the sky and the rim of the sea”) lies below Xiamaling Hill, about 50 kilometers west of Yalong Bay. In ancient times, Hainan Island was a place where exiles were sent, because there was little means of transportation and only scattered inhabitants on the island.

  • West Island

    West Island (also called Diamaodao or Xidiadao) is the second largest island of Hainan Province. It is located about 20km (8 miles) away from Sanya downtown, just in Snaya Bay National Natural Reserve. With the resident less than 3,000 living mainly on fishing, this quiet island is attracting more and more vacationers. The island has the beautiful tropical landscape and fresh air.
